Date and time
Our wedding is taking place at Rådhuset. Oslo City Hall, Munch room at 14:00 on Friday 10th April. You are all invited to come to the Rådhuset ceremony which is only around 15 minutes, however we can only have 30 people inside the office. We need to be there an hour before. I will discuss transport to and from the Solstua to the venue with you on the Thursday evening if you are staying there.
Once finished we will make our way back to the Solstua for the wedding reception which starts around 17:00. The dinner will be around 18.00 and we are catering for both vegetarian and meat eaters. We are providing the drinks as there is no bar. It will be self serve. There will be beer, red and white wine, champagne, prosecco and soft drinks. It would be appreciated if you could please bring a bottle of Fizz with you though.
The party can go on as long as we wish afterwards!
Rådhuset is located at:
Rådhusplassen 1
0037 Oslo
Travel arrangements
For those travelling from the UK, I think most of you will have booked the Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport to Oslo Sandefjord (Torp) on Thursday 9th April 2026 which lands at 11.20 Norwegian time. There is a bus direct from Torp Airport to Oslo Bus terminal which usually leaves around an hour after the plane lands. In any case it waits for the flight as each bus is scheduled to run for a specific flight. It leaves from just outside the front of the airport. Torp airport is small and immigration is usually very quick although they now check your biometrics ie Face and Finger prints. The travel time to Oslo is around 1hour 35 minutes. I will meet everyone at the bus terminal. Its a 5 minute walk to the Metro station at Jernbanetorget where we will take the metro up to the Solstua and the Hotel.
You can download to book tickets from the Airport to Oslo from this link or you can pay for the ticket as you can get on the bus. Its cheaper to prebuy it when you land and I would recommend buying it only when you land. Its 319 Nkr currently
You will need to download the Ruter App to your phone to buy Metro tickets to use around Oslo. If you are in a couple only one of you needs the App as you can buy two tickets from that. There are no ticket barriers but you must have a ticket per person as checks do take place and fines are very heavy. Once we arrive at the metro station in Oslo I can tell you which ticket to buy. The journey takes around 35 minutes.
The Venue
We have hired the Solstua from The Thursday evening until the Sunday morning so we are free to come and go as we please. Its in an incredible location on a hill overlooking the City and Fjord and is surrounded by forests.
The Solstua is located at:
Thorleif Haugs vei 14
0791 Oslo
Some of you are staying at the Voksenåsen hotel which is very close by, if you wish to stay the Friday night there, we recommend to book the rooms in advance.

Other information
We have no idea what the weather will be doing so its best if you come prepared for all eventualities. Last April was warm and sunny but its Norway so it could be snowing. A waterproof jacket, a warm jacket, umbrella and outdoor shoes would be a good idea along with smart for the wedding. We are planning some activities for the Saturday and Sunday and everyone is welcome to join in if they wish.
Very few people use cash in Norway so cards are the best way to pay. Its around £1 to 13.5 Nok currently.
Parking available at the venue for about 12 cars.
We are really looking forward to seeing you all and hope you enjoy the weekend with us. If you have any questions please contact either of us directly.
